Expectation - Messiah in the Psalms Logo

Our 2014 Advent Series focused on seeing the expectation of the people of God through the book of psalms, the “hymnbook” of the ancient church. The songs they sang in worship prepared them to receive the Messiah, but what were they to expect? As we await Jesus’ second coming, what should be be expecting? This series looks at the psalms for answers to these questions and more.

Psalm 2 “Expect a Mighty King”

Psalm 72 “Expect Justice”

Psalm 110 “Expect a Priest-King”

Psalm 22 “Expect A Suffering Servant”

Selected Scriptures “The Wait is Over”

Our previous series is titled “First Peter: Church Under Fire” and answers the the question, “How do we live as the church of Jesus Christ in a culture hostile to our values?” Peter teaches the church about the centrality of the gospel, modest and holy living, and love for one another. Martin Luther said that everything a Christian needs to know can be found in 1 Peter. Join us for the exposition of a letter as important for the ancient church as for ours.
