Worship – A Sample of Our Service

Below is a sample of what a service might look like at KVPCA. Hymnals are provided for those who love to read music and prefer the feel of a book in their hands. The entire service is projected on a screen for those who prefer not to juggle hymnals.

We sing out of the Trinity Hymnal, blended with songs from Indelible Grace, Keith and Kristen Getty, and Sovereign Grace Music.

Preparation: Welcome, Announcements, and Prelude

We Praise the Creator

God Calls Us to Worship                         Psalm 104:1

“Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty!”

*Hymn 296                                               All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name

*Prayer of Praise

We Mourn the Fall

*God Calls to Repentance                        Romans 6:1-2

“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?  By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?”

*We Confess Our Sins in Prayer

All: Heavenly Father, it is astounding that sinners like us, who have received so much grace, and love, and mercy, and blessing from you, would continue to sin. Forgive our sins, we pray. Remind us of the new life we have in you. By your grace, draw us to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

*Songbook 45                                       Come Ye Sinners

We Rejoice in the Gospel

*Assurance of Pardon                       Romans 6:3-4

“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”

*We Confess Our Faith                        Romans 6:5-6

All: For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

*Songbook 43                                         How Deep the Father’s Love for Us

Giving Our Offerings in Thanks for the Gospel

*Prayer of Gratitude and Dedication

Children ages four and under are dismissed to the nursery
